ES-DC2 Dust Monitoring System for Solar Panel utilizes module-to-module extreme value data analysis (IEC 61724 contamination measurement method) technology, making it easy to install in new or existing PV arrays and integrate into the power plant management system. The monitoring sensor is installed on two PV panel samples in the field (one panel is naturally dusted, and the other is regularly cleaned). By continuously measuring the power loss caused by contaminants on the glass, the amount of reduced sunlight reaching the solar module is calculated.

Contaminants on solar module glass are one of the major problems rapidly impacting photovoltaic (PV) power plants, reducing power generation efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Dust contamination can significantly reduce PV power generation, estimated at least 5% annually.

The monitoring sensor is installed on two PV panel samples in the field (one panel is naturally dusted, and the other is regularly cleaned). By continuously measuring the power loss caused by contaminants on the glass, the amount of reduced sunlight reaching the solar module is calculated.

By measuring the proportion of contaminants (SR), this is converted into a real-time loss of power generation. This allows maintenance personnel to know when contamination reaches a critical point and when it is necessary to initiate a cleaning procedure. The product requires no maintenance; it is cleaned in the same way as surrounding modules.
