The ES-S228L longwave radiometer, also known as an Earth radiometer, is primarily used to measure infrared radiation from the atmosphere and Earth’s surface in the wavelength range of 3–50 μm. It is applied in fields such as soil evapotranspiration studies, radiation balance studies in meteorology, radiative heat exchange studies, and monitoring trends in highway pavement conditions.
